Apolipoprotein A1
An apolipoprotein is a protein that binds to a lipid to form a lipoprotein. Apolipoproteins are responsible for helping to transport cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, and for directing the lipoprotein to its correct destination in the body. There are different types of apolipoproteins found on different types of cholesterol. Apolipoprotein A is found on HDL cholesterol.
